Transparency notice: YUMA is developed with the help of generative artificial intelligence (AI).
We want to be open about how AI tools are used, in line with the transparency principles of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) and the disclosure rules of game stores.
Where AI is used#
- Game code and tools: large parts of the game’s source code, tools, shaders and technical documentation are written with AI coding assistants (large language models) and reviewed, tested and integrated by the developer.
- Texts on this website: devlogs and other texts may be drafted or edited with the help of AI.
- Game art: some 3D models in the development build, for example the Viking clothing, a round shield, the mythic creatures (draugr, the barrow king, trolls, the seer, clan chieftains) and the realistic skins of the animals (on free CC0 animal rigs), and the concept images they are based on are generated with AI tools (Meshy: text-to-image and image-to-3D). The developer fits, rigs, animates and integrates them. They are early versions and may be replaced.
- Menu and loading screen art: the painted key art on the main menu and the loading screens is generated with an AI image tool (Google Gemini) and selected by the developer.
- Images and media: screenshots in the devlogs show the actual game. Other images on this website (for example illustrations and headers) may be created or edited with AI tools.
Where AI is not used#
- No AI in the running game that talks to players: the “AI” mentioned in the game description (villagers, tribes, wildlife) is classic game AI - rules and simulation written in code, not generative AI. No player data is sent to AI services by the game.
- Third-party assets used in the game come from their original creators under their respective licences (for example CC0 assets).
Responsibility#
All content is reviewed by a human before it is published, and the developer is responsible for it. If you have questions about the use of AI, please use the contact details in the Legal Notice.
